That is one slap in the face to Columbus. But when I was young, so many years ago, I was told in school that the Vikings were here first, Just did not know they came that far south. We could be getting off on a Viking day instead of Columbus Day, just food for thought.

That would be weird Tom? It's true though because there is even evidence they made it as far westward as lake Champlain! They had those shallow draft boats that could navigate anywhere! Even up in Nova Scotia too!

It is indeed a nice piece. It was built as an exhibit for the the Golden Gate international Exibition and I actually own a ticket to the exhibit if you would like to see it?

Scott US# 1331 & 1332 on a postcard from Cape Kennedy (as it was then known) depicting the launch of a Saturn V rocket. The space postcard is first day stamped at the Kennedy Space Center at what is today known as Cape Canaveral.

That's an early rocket depicted on that postcard. Nazi scientists were brought over after the war and one in particular,Robert Lusser, invented the engine, the pulse-jet engine, and designed the V1 & V2 rockets that devastated England during the blitz. The rocket shown has the same paint scheme as the test rockets. Lusser is pretty much the reason we have NASA. He was also the first guy to put a guidance system on a rocket.
