This is another hobby of mine, maybe not even a hobby but more like a life style, which there is a lot of postage related items for Scouting. I want this space for we can just chat about scouting and maybe i will later start a scouting tropical thread or someone else could only if there isn't one made already.

I wanted to tell you guys about some fun I had time at basically one boy scout camp for about the last ten years. I will start at the beginng, 10 years ago i joined Cub Scouts, where I found out my dad signed me up to go to the Cub Scout Day camp. Being six years old i was jumping off the wall with excitement. Then that summer first day I was sent to Den Two. I barely rember that year at cub scout day camp, But i can't forget about the bannana Skit where they would be two people on would fold a bandanna, the other fold a bannana. Then Next year i went to The camp again and this year they had a Theme it was Underwater life, Those years i barely remember till 2 years later. It was 2005 and this theme is Midevil kingdom. That year we had a Cap director, i gave him a nickname of Big tom since his name was tom and he was 6 foot nine. I also remember we had a pull a sword out out of a stone. To this day I do not know how they pulled off i tugged and tugged and still could not get the sword out untill it was parents day and my dad go out. My jaw droped to the ground. I think it was rigged. Then the next year i became a boy scout and my dad was invited to become program director, which he did for 5 years.Anyway i became a boy scout and they had this program where i can voulteer at the Cub scout day camp.I should also tell you this camp was at held a Camp Gustin, which I began to love. After about three years of working there I probally explored 50% of this 125 acre proptey. Then i was asked to become the Camp Rangers assisant at camp for the week at Cub Scout Day Camp. Next year fall of 2010 I was at a camporee with the boy scouts where i heard The Camp Gustin was going to be sold, since The Pine tree council, the local area of scouting was needing money. So after a year of protesting we saved the camp. Maye in adifrent post i will tell you guys the process of that.now This is going to be 11 year asa scout at Camp Gustin to top of the Post i will post a Sunset pic of this camp.

Can I make just a small suggestion?

A big block of text as above is somewhat difficult (and a bit scary) to tackle in one sitting. It is much more pleasant to make liberal use of the "enter" key, for example:

A more pleasant and inviting 'look' in my opinion, but a very interesting story, it was good that you were able to save the camp.

Good idea, thank you for editing my a little article, Yeah there was a lack of money our local boy scout coucil had so there last option was selling camp and it was so close too. Until someone donated money just enough to save it and we had a little suggestion of getting money make the camp a tree farm sorta, so we can the coucil have money and we have more room to expand, the bad part was there was horrable plan of selecting the trees to be cut.

Yes I ma not too keen on chopping trees either. One Xmas we decided to go to a Xmas tree farm to get our tree.

When we got there we were given a saw and told to choose a tree to cut down...I had assumed we were getting a branch; but they wanted us to cut down a lil' tree!

We left without one; and went to a nursery instead & bought a baby Xmas tree in a pot and later planted it into the ground in our front yard...today it is a huge pine!

I was given a small medallion with the Cub Scout oath on it when I memorized the oath in my first year of Scouting back in 1965 - it's on my key chain to this day. All three of my sons were also in Scouting - I can't possibly say enough good things about Scouting.
