Yes it is a great cover. BTW what is the significance of the "o" or "D" on the wavey part of the cancel?

While I am here I might as well ask a question posed by a good friend on another forum:

Any ideas?

thanks

There's something strangely appealing about these old advertising covers that makes me mighty glad someone saved them.

Here are a couple that I sold a few years ago:

Every once in a while I'll see a piece of modern junk mail that catches my eye for some reason, and I'll hang on to that. Does anyone else do that, or is it just me?

You make a very good point - if someone like you had not kept what could be regarded as the 'junk' mail of the times we would now miss out on such lovely covers as those shown above.

I guess we tend to look down upon our own times and often fail to keep what in a future age may very well become a delight.

Thanks , philatelius I for one will be looking at the daily ton of junk mail that descends upon my poor mail box with new eyes...I may even start collecting some! affraid

Good on ya, mate! Very Happy

Great covers here.

Oddly enough, I just completed an album for Canadian advertising covers only a couple of months ago. Some are cheapies and others are real nice ones.

I like to add some historical notes about any given company I have to dress up the pages.

@Katanaman: have you posted any of your advertising cover pages here on Stampbears? If not, would you be willing to? I for one would enjoy seeing them.

Hi Philatelius

I am not familiar with the way to post images in here. In another forum, I have posted many covers etc, including my advert covers.. Having stated this, I will go through the tutorial on YouTube to see if I can get smart enough to post images in here as well. Surprised

Greetings Bear
.
I'm confused too. (I know I'm still on 'probation' and can't link yet.) But why can we attach our avatar from our own computer file, but not pictures of our stamps without first posting them on an outside server-system? Maybe I'm just thinking lazy.
.

.
Respectfully,

Gordon Lee

this is a safety feature we opted for from our site provider.... this keeps spammers (people who would sing in just to advertise everything from shoes to adult content) from signing up and posting a million links all over our site.... a lot of the time the links are embedded with viruses and other unwanted things....

i know its a pain in the back side however it has kept most of them at bay

I was wondering if this forum accept images via irfanview?

I tried but all I get is "Code" and no image.

I have used this system many times in another forum and this is why I am asking.
