I suspect it was a subconscious need to maximise space, even had to keep some duplicates in a small box

Here is a small collection of British Queen Victoria stamps that just arrived for a short holiday here. Then they must be on their way to their new home! Wink

Since I'm bad at quoting catalogue numbers, pictures are easier for me to tell you if I have what you need cat

That is exactly the very reason this is a GREAT idea. When I first joined I didn't even have a catalogue and such a set of images would be beneficial to me at that time (even now )

I have only been back in the hobby for 3 1/2 months. Now, as I posted earlier, I have a benefit of being in the hobby back in my teen years and further sat on the board of directors of the local stamp club, but most new members here don't have that background. Showing images of duplicates is the best way to go for them, as well as the experienced collector as we will relate to the image better than the catalogue number.

So very true ! New members would not feel the stress of looking for catalogue numbers. I get rather frustrated looking at catalogues too, coz' I rely on my photographic memory more

I'm just noticing this thread!

I don't collect GB but I have to say the stamps AND their dupes look FANTASTIC on pages! LOTS of eye appeal!
