Went to bed at 5am, as is becoming the norm in this household. We need to stop that

Finally get to bed at a semi sane 3am (cause yesterday was an extremely tiring day of moving) and the dog has me up at 7am

Going back to bed, but the move was done, so now permanently at the John's place (the other half) and no more paying rent at two apts... just the one The important stuff is here (the stamp collection Wink ) and the rest is now in storage (took WAY too long though... 7 hours affraid )

Even in my semi-comatose state was able to find some bears for the coat of arms thread with out even having any coffee yet Razz Back to catch some more Sleep

Probably will not get too much done on the collection this weekend as it is Pride, and Canada Day all in a 3 day period. Today is errands (including a haircut which is desparately needed, the hair is just about an inch long at the back... way too long for this guy who usually has a flat top), pick up my camcorder out of the shop, grab some stamp supplies (out of hingeless mounts and need yet another binder, #4 now), pop into the post office to see what is new and maybe grab a few (dozen?) stamps. Twomorrow and Sunday will be out and about all day checking out the downtown, which will be an absolute zoo! So not much stamp work, but we shall see where I can squeeze in a bit here and there. I really want to get the Canada collection portion together so that I can then finally get the spares into the stock albums and put away for good. That way I can really get to work on getting into Britain, Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the Commonwealth.

Oops, also need to run out to Staples/Business Depot and grab some 28lb paper for more album pages.

Well, did get some of the stuff dealt with yesterday. The camcorder is still in the shop as it wasn't ready and couldn't grab an album as they were out of stock Sad. Did get the hair all chopped off so back to my #1 sides and #2 top.

But did get the mounts, the paper and the few dozen mint stamps. Right now I really need to grab at least 3 albums as I have to start putting the GB and Australia pages in something soon. The mint Canuck is going to have to wait a bit till I can get the pages designed so that I have something interesting to put them in... working on that later on in the summer.

More Canadian pages got printed and Vol 1 of the used Canada collection goes up to 1980 and Vol 2 will have 1981 to 1999 at the minimum, maybe a few more years, but I doubt it as I am noticing that once the mounts and stamps are in place they really start taking up space! Might move 1980 to vol 2 and start vol 3 off beginning with 2000. Sort of logical split I think. We shall see.

Have to head downtown later (1ish) to check things out with the Liberal Party booth and wander the street for a bit. Maybe will be able to get an hour or two of work on the collection.

Went to a Pink Dot event yesterday and it was great fun ! It was my first time there and first time it was held at night. I went this time round coz' I believed in the freedom to love, no matter who you are. For a small & young country, it is interesting (and relieving) that how we have matured rapidly to talk openly about these topics, and to show our support.

WARNING: This is related to support for our local LGBT community so if you feel uncomfortable with this, please don't click on the link.

Enjoy the beautiful night view ! The golden building in the pic is Fullerton Hotel. It was formerly our General Post Office. More photos of the PINK DOT event HERE

The pink dot formed by about 15,000 people in Singapore to “celebrate inclusiveness, diversity and the freedom to love”. This is the 4th Pink Dot gathering since 2008. (Photo Credit: Pink Dot 2012)

yep it was great fun ! I'm glad my friends invited me along coz' I have a bit of claustaphobia so I usually don't join in big crowds such as these...in fact I tend to avoid X'mas or New Year parties as well. I can celebrate at home with my stamps Very Happy

I should get out more! I had no idea what LGBT was till I Googled it. And no, it does not make me feel uncomfortable in the least...everyday i learn something new!

For example, I took my grandson to school the other day and on the school grounds they have a number of drawings.

One of them is a map of Australia, to my surprise the sea North of Australia is called the Arafura Sea (I always thought it was the Timor sea)...so there you go I learned a valuable bit of geography at Elementary School @ the age of 67! Razz Razz

Well recovering from the weekend. Had some fun and now relaxing (recovering?). As for learning, we should attempt to learn something every day.
