You're already in Friday! Drat! Friday is my third favorite day of the week.

Guess I could fill y'all in on the garden at present....

Harvested bell peppers, okra, tomatoes, basil, cucumbers, banana & jalapeno peppers, green beans and pole beans last weekend. From that I made a nice pot of okra & tomato simmered down in bacon & basil. The green beans & pole beans I tossed together with some sliced banana peppers, bacon and new potatoes from the farmer's market. I also stuffed a half dozen bell peppers which I'll finish off the last of for supper this evening.

Though still very small it's looking like I'll have an ample crop of both watermelons & cantaloupes and I picked a nice handful of chives yesterday as well.

Last weekend also made second plantings of radish and onions. Thinking this weekend I may do a second planting of green beans. Those things are delicious and they just don't ripen fast enough!

I tried my hand at carrots, cabbage and lettuce too early in the season... they're growing but slowly - the ground is just too hot. I should also have planted more tomatoes - my kid could live on cucumbers & tomatoes out of the garden.

Going to my eldest son's house for BBQ on Saturday and should be able to make all or most all of our sides from the garden.

Amazing the things you can do with a 9-12 month growing season!

Farming your own vegs seem so fun ! Would love to volunteer at a farm some day Razz

hot and lazy afternoon here, catching up with scanning and clearing up some space in my room (to make way for the new table). It's rather crowded for now tongue

Hope to share new stuff here later at night !

And so, a few hours ago I took a small container of stamps and checked out the contents. Turns out I opened a "can of stamps" Shocked

It was just a few hundred stamps but wow...so many old ones, must have been those IGATI moments (don't even ask me how these got there !) So I soldiered on, sorting everything into countries. Found a few treasures but when I tried to fit them into the album, there was no space Embarassed

That's was when I decided most must go (for my sake) and will be setting some for sale this week cheers

Bengelpaws,
I am so envious.
Couldn't plant anything until late may and June, then a deer came and ate the tops off the tiny little eggplants, peas, beans, cucumbers and peppers. Now with the good weather the weeds are growing faster the topped garden plants.

I'm beginning to think the 25 posts for newcomers to become full members is way too easy...shall we increase it to 50 instead ?

i could not do that !!! (i know you where kidding)

i really have learned quite a bit about one of the new members in that 25 posts and i am comfortable that the 25 post count is a good idea...

even if others have had a hard time in the past. LOL

Friday is always fun down here, Bear. For one thing it's Friday and Friday means a half day of work - I work 7am-11am on Fridays. Then after work today I'm going pick up my youngest daughter from her last day of a summer volunteer nursing program (grab those school credits where ever you can!) and back home and we're going to try our hand at putting up some pickled okra.

Then tonight I get to let my hair down (literally), take The Redhead by the hand and off we go to downtown Baton Rouge for a ZZ Top & Three Doors Down concert and after the concert a short walk along the levee to the riverboat for a nice dinner at the casino and maybe even a little blackjack or slots...

Ahhhhhh... must be the weekend!

Just set up the first item in my Delcampe store, do let me know what you think of it ! And listing 2 eBay auctions soon. Also in the midst of building up offerings for my Facebook page, I'll give Twitter a miss for now (don't think I can cope with so much Shocked but do you think I should get an account ?)

Now I gotta figure out how to link to my signature and stuff like that..... bounce

Twitter is good only if you get a following, but if you do can be benificial.
