These things were so easy to access on the Macintosh. So unbelievable cumbersome on the PC.

There is this section of your computer (PC) that is called a character map... you can find TONS of stuff there

I use Character Map, the app in most windows machines. It can display the code for almost any font type.

It is under All Programs/Accessories/System Tools.

I created a shortcut and pinned it to my Start menu for easy access.

It is useful for ® £ ¢ © and oh so many more.

The advantage of the Alt codes is that if you only need one symbol quickly, it's faster. Of course, then you have to memorize some codes. Fortunately, they are simply the ASCII codes, and everybody already has those memorized...

I told you all i am compter challenged. I have been using a PC at work since 1984. And I did not know this. Itwould have made my life so much easier.... ohwell I am retired now and don't need them...
