| If that is the case BP., you would love the GOMC (Grumpy Old Men's Club) meetings. Held nearly every Tuesday.
Four of us, Lawrence (Philly) , Jerry (Fercon Jerry), Old Harry and myself sit around- drink coffee and have show and tell.
Philly is into Exhibitions/Stamp Shows, First Flights, and lots of other things. Jerry is into Eire, stampbooklets, windowed envelopes, postcards and postal stationery, and other things. Old Harry is into forgeries, cinderellas, registration labels, Early Indonesia and anything that is not tied down. He is 87 and has been collecting since he was a boy. He is also an anthropologist and has written several volumes on registration labels. I collect several countries, Aust. postmarks (barred numerals, cds, slogan machine cancels, pictorial postmarks and meter cancels, planes, trains and ships.
A diverse group, with diverse backgrounds and all story tellers. Fercon Jerry ( the Fercon part came from his former employer Fercon Engineering) and has snide references to a human activity. He is an Irish story-teller and his experiences are almost unbelievable. |

| i have spoken with Him over skype a great many times (life has hindered this opportunity over the last few months) but when i do get the chance i always plan about 2 hours that way when we talk for 3 or 4 its all just part of the plan... Waroff has soo much knowledge and is always willing to share with anyone willing to listen that you get caught up in the excitement of the conversation and before you know it you are exploring areas of collecting you had no idea where even there...

| I have spent the last three days , sorting out Aussie postmarks. I bought a shoebox from one of the GOMC's and once I started sorting couldn't stop. Some new pictorial ones (ones I didn't have), some 'paid at' and lots for the family places collection, some Milpo, RAAF PO and 1 Navy PO.
Looking through the 'paid at', there was one from FOOTSCRAY, it is rated a RR, The reference book says 7-12 copies known. (Watson, Webster and Wood- The Post offices and Hand-Held datestamps of Victoria)
The work now really begins- I have sorted them into the Aust. states but now into alphabetic groups, then into P.O. I have 3½ Kg of Just Victoria on close cut pieces and lesser weights for the other states.
So if you don't hear from me for a few days. weeks, years....you lnow why??????? |

| If I find them, there yours. Most of the stuff I have at the moment is from the 80's. But why not start a collection of 29-11-xx and 17-11-xx
(p.s. 17-11-76 is my elder son's birthday.) |

| Greetings Ms. kathy young . That is a beautiful Goomalling canx. . However, I just noticed something. The pin holes of the perforation seem out of whack. Instead of a straight line they tend to stagger a bit (like they just made a visit to a sly grog shop). Is that common? . Respectfully,
Gordon Lee |
