| Cool man! Nice (non-Downey Head) stamp!
Is it 22.1mm or 22.6 - 23.1mm tall? Clipped perfs and a smudgy parcel cancel are fairly common attributes of these and can affect the CV tremendously!
Have a good one, talk to you later tonight,
Skilo54

| My Gibbons concise states the following:
The Waterlow and De la Rue stamps measure exactly 22 mm vertically. These were the ones issued in 1913 (Waterlow) and 1915(De la Rue).
This leaves it as Bradbury printing of either 1918 or a reprint done in 1934. The re-print's background around the portrait consists of horizontal and diagonal lines.
Based on your image I would say it is either Gibbons 413a (olive-brown), 414(chocolate-brown), 415(reddish brown) or 415a(pale brown). Issued in 1918.

| That would depend on the colour. Computers are notorious for not accurately displaying colour. If you have a Stanley Gibbons Colour key it would be the best way to determine it.
Scott shows it as olive-brown, catalogue number 179.

| i dont .. and i would not be much help as i am partially color blind.. grrrrr
i was thinking the 179 also.. not as big a hit as i would have liked but still a nice one to sell .... the debate becomes not a Bear Auction, privet sale, or ebay?

| I believe the one you have Bear is a Scott #179. I also have a Scott #179. As you can see the colors are different among the same number. |
