Don't remind me about the gaps. Will have a better idea what I need to fill after I go through the 2 lots of GB stuff I bought. One (a 1000 stamp bag) from a guy here in Ontario (you may remember him Bear, he had the bears on stamps lot) and another coming from over the pond. We shall see where I stand after that.

Ross, after you go through them, the dups could be some good trading material.

Ok Kris, those are Machin's are the Postage Revenue different or an earlier version.
I am sorting here and have not had the time to search yet. I was just looking for a short cut with these stamps that is becoming a big pile.

Tom, Machins have the queens head on them, the earlier postage revunues stamps are not Machins. Machins were first issued in 1967.

Well, after seeing this collection I now have to start a Machin album, he he.

I have a few hundred pre-decimal machins that were just sitting around in a pile all lonesome.

I downloaded the free "basic" album from adminware that was linked earlier in this thread. I'll at least work on pre-decimal ones since I already had a bunch of them. Razz

Nice set of Machins. I like your pages. I am using the free simple pages from the Adminware site mentioned earlier in the thread.

Very Happy

I printed out the free adminware pages today and started searching through a large pile of worldwide stuff I hadn't ever sorted to find machins. The first thing I noticed was that I didn't really understand what "pre-decimal" means. I have some research to do.

I did come up with about 300 machins to sort through.

Your nice looking collection sure did get me interested, thanks!

Pre-decimal Machins were issued in the Olde Pound, Shilling, Pence days of Great Britain. On stamps you can tell them apart by the decimal currency use p for Pence and the pre-decimal use d for Pence.

Ha ha! Yeah. I'm not (at least not now) going to try to figure out all the other little things like the rounded base on the head and the various bands etc. I'll just use the basic list for now.
