Down here our lives are surrounded by food. So much of it, if you cant find something you like, shame on you.

Thanks bengalpaws I will pass that on to my wife.
She uses the same can of biscuits for chicken and biscuits.

One of us, I see, will have to create a recipes section somewhere here.

Would this do ?

Man... as much fun as I'm looking to have at the Grand Funk show I'm still trying to fit this stamp show in somehow.

Saturday morning is at present still on the table but that could change at the whim of The Redhead.

Sunday is likely off the table as we have a "tradition" of breakfast with my oldest son and his family (he has 2 of my 4 grandchildren!) on the first Sunday of every month then all piling into their van together and taking in the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum with the kids. Admission is free the first Sunday of every month and we take the opportunity to feed the grandchildren a steady dose of art and science while making it fun.

It's a clear cut case of wanting it all!!!!

Now that is some very responsible and respectable parenting. Too often parents neglect the arts and culture when educating children. Thus, I feel, we have ended up with the society we have today as too many parents in the past ignored all of that.

My mother died a little over six years ago, Ross, and I came into a small inheritance. Nothing much but still enough to go to my children and let them know I had enough to do something special for them - within reason. Their responses were classic.

My two married with kids children:

Oldest daughter: Braces for her daughter's teeth. Done. She has a beautiful smile!

Oldest son: A piano for the kids (this is the son mentioned above)

My single children:

Younger son: Rims for his new truck.

Younger daughter: Take me to Vegas for New Year!

I agree... parents skip the arts and that's a shame. Thankfully my son isn't one of them... those kids get exposed to the arts, they both play piano and they are both bilingual (Spanish).

I exposed my children to the arts and I shan't ever regret it. An art gallery and/or museum can spark a child's interests and imagination like few other things can do.

I have a very close friend who is a Teacher in a French Catholic school here (they deal primarily with new immigrant children from Africa) and she well knows the value of arts and culture. I have pretty much sold her on using stamps as an educational tool for some of that area.

Pull your stamp collection out in front of an adult and there's a darn good chance they'll be anywhere from indifferent to bored. Pull that same collection out in front of a child and they're instantly fascinated. Almost without fail stamps fascinate children.
