| Hi everybody ,
I'm Michael from Germany, use my nickname "PaleoPhilatelist" everywhere in the web. As from the nickname I collect Paleontology related stamps: fossils, prehistoric animals, palaeontologists etc. I also run a web site PaleoPhilatelie.EU where I try to bring both of my hobbies Paleontology and Philately together. There are some stamps with prehistoric animals in my album and some on a target list therefore I join the forum with hope to learn something new about and perhaps to be useful member here.
so long, Michael (PaleoPhilatelist) |

| Greetings paleophilatelist . . I think you might be interested in what is sitting on the mantle of my outdoor fireplace in my backyard. There's a small creek out beyond the trees where I pick one or two up every time I go out fishing (well, I've actually stopped bringing them home since there's no more room on the mantle). . Welcome. . Respectfully, Gordon Lee |

| You have an awesome backyard, Gordon. I had to look up where Roanoke was, and its very close to Southlake. Been there a couple times for my kids Taekwondo tournaments. Also been to Grapevine as a kid, stayed on some lake and road horses. Beautiful area. |

Gordon Lee...
That is one awesome fireplace (or is it a BBQ pit?)!
Didn't know that there were that many fossils floating around the Roanoke area. Thought that the area west of Cleburne had a monopoly on those. |

| Greetings Mr. kacyds . Thanks, but that photograph does not do my backyard justice. The fireplace is located in the Northeast side of my double-wide. The Northwest side has the badmitten net, horseshoe pit, wading pool, swimming pool, tennis courts, batting cage, putting greens, and polo field. (Just joking . . . there's no horseshoe pit.) (Just joking again, I only have a badmitten net . . . honest.) . I get my mail from the Roanoke Post Office, but my deluxe custom-made double-wide is plopped down within the city limits of Fort Worth. Although, it's almost closer to downtown Denton, Texass than it is to downtown cowtown. In fact, I'm in Denton County and not the county (Tarrant County) that downtown Fort Worth is located. . I live Northwest of Roanoke. Although Roanoke is nice (it bills itself as the "Unique Dining Experience Capital of Texass") they won't let me use their public library. Thus, I drive 15 miles to the nearest Fort Worth public library branch or ten miles to the Keller library whenever I need a Scott Catalogue. It's city living out in the sticks. . Respectfully,
Gordon Lee

| Greetings Mr. stampdays . Just about any old creek or gully anywhere in Texass that has worn down to bedrock will have fossils floating around. That photograph of the mantle of my outdoor fireplace is a couple of years old. It's now plumb chuck full of those ammolites (the ribbed round ones). Unless I find one that's exceptionaly nice or large I leave them lay. . Respectfully,
Gordon Lee |
