Attention Candian Collectors! How do I get these?

Starting June 29 all eight CFL teams will be featured on stamps showing individual team logos. This year marks the 100th Grey Cup game and additional stamps in booklets showing football players and scenes from famous games is planned for August 16.

My question... how can I get these? I'm a HUGE football fan... check that... I'm not a fan I'm a zealot! These issues would make a topical collection on American (and Canadian) style football possible.

Using US issues alone there isn't all that much though I could dig deep and find famous Americans on stamps who played football (Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy and Gerald Ford come to mind right away).

I'd REALLY like to lay hands on these stamps and possibly first day covers as well...

So I'm asking all you neighbors to the north... point me in the right direction!

have you tried Canada post? often you can get them online if you want official FDC's personally i would through a WANT add up in the market place and or a PM to some of our great northern neighbors and see if they can help you out mister.

I tell ya, Bear, those puppies caught my eye with the quickness. I've been wanting to do something with football but there's really a lack of material - until now.

It's the kind of topic one could catch up on quickly and near painlessly and be... dare I say it... complete.

Bear is correct. You can order them from Canada Post directly and pay via credit card. I hate to brag, but CanPost has one of the better philatelic divisions for any postal carrier. Wink

1. Bragging is permitted. (I like when a person has a sense of national pride)

Not what I wanted to hear... but having played a little football in my youth I understand if you're going to play the game you're going to have to take the hits.

Isn't that what our hobby is all about.....SPENDING MONEY. I just got my Aust. Post Bulletin. For the 2012 London Olympics- sheets on 10x 60c for each gold medal winner x 2 ( one for traditional print and one for day after (instant print.) That's $12 for each winner. If we have 15 winners that's $180.00 to start.

Since I already have the Sydney (2000) games and the Athens (2004) and I think somewhere Beijing (2008), it makes it,' a must buy'.

If those Australian swimmers perform in London the way they did in Sydney you're going to be spending more than $180!

I ordered a set today, but the order quoted can be halved, as they are only printing one type of sheet which will be out 1-2 days after the ceremony. All the stamps will be printed the one way.

Saved a lot of money. After the $25 deposit, only had to pay another $24. Thanks to the swimmers......but if they brought out ones for silver, I'd be in the drink...hehehehe

Well, if Canada had done the same... wouldn't have been all that expensive Sad
