Hi everybody, newbie from NY here. Used to collect stamps in high school back in India in the 80's/90's. Recently started tinkering with the idea of getting back to collecting stamps.
Grew up so fast, somewhere down the lane the kid whose face would light up looking at stamps, got lost. Trying to see if i can find him again.
Great forum, kudos to both admin team and the members

Welcome, Zzebie! I too set aside my collecting interests for a number of years... raising a family, getting kids through school, scouting, sports, school work, science fairs, cheerleading, camps, and the like. Now that we've whittled the family unit down to only one child left in the house and her a little more than a year away from college I picked my collection back up with a renewed enjoyment for the hobby that burns brighter now than ever.

One thing though... the urge to "catch up" can get hold of ya if you're not careful!

Welcome back and welcome to the StampBears "family"!

The urge to catch up is a mouth full, I have been with my stamps for just over a year. I do understand that statement. I have found my self doing it once or twice. Some have been at this for years and have a great collection. Ours will be there also in time. Like I said I have fallen into that urge.

Welcome, zzebie! I'm new here myself but found it a very laid back, friendly and very helpful community here so I know you will like it! What was your stamp collecting interests if I may ask? I think stamp collectors mostly all go through a lul in their hobbies and it always seems to come back around sooner or later though. Welcome back to your collecting roots!

Also, I'm from PA so not too awful far away geographically. -Krash

Hi Krash. I used to collect all kinds of stamps from different countries. I remember some beautiful stamps on space exploration from the erstwhile Soviet Republic. Then remember a round stamp from Bhutan, few triangular ones, and one 3d stamp from a middle eastern country.
I am in the middle of changing IT consulting projects, so while i am attending interviews, i am getting time to read up more about stamps.

Yep, PA is close indeed. I've been to Phily once, and i hope will get to visit again
