PostSubject: Singapore Stamp Club Exchange books   Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:23 pm

On my visit to my stamp seller friend last week, collected a whole bunch of covers and postcards from him for selling. But what made us gawk was this book from the 1980s, perhaps I haven't joined any clubs here at all so this was really something new.

Here's a preview of the cover...we found 3 from the same member

I recently joined a stamp club and they are supposed to have aligned their trading club with two other stamp clubs (in Houston, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), hold auctions, encourage trading amongst members and have a nice annual raffle... I have GOT to attend a meeting and soon just to see what's going on!

Do you know if they have or plan on creating a circuit book program? If so, I would like to know the name of one (or more) of the three clubs so I can check things out.

yes but nothing compares to a real hard cover book with the smell of the paper and ink.

the feel of the book, the cast of the light.. yeah a real book will never go out of style.

Greetings Mr. kv86.9.247.238f
.
A circuit book is a stamp exchange. It is a stock book filled with stamps and makes a circuit from one stamp club member (or, in this case, from one stamp club) to another member (or stamp club). For every stamp taken from the circuit book is replaced by another stamp (usually of equal catalogue value) and then passed forward, completing the circuit and then started again. The idea is to continuously keep the book filled with new and different stamps. A lot of circuit books are established using thematic/topical stamps. Up until 1970's the practice of using circuit books was a North American thing.
.
Kindles are good, but I use a Nook when not actually reading a book.
.
Respectfully,

Gordon Lee

A Nook is another type of electronic reader. It is comparable as a Ford automobile is to a Chevrolet.
