Yeah, getting cds cancels really does make it a bit more challenging, but since it IS a used collection it should look, well, used! Laughing

I have acquired close to a thousand Machins and am 80% complete on the Regionals. The Machins are roughly sorted by denomination so I am taking the time to more closely examine the pre-decimal issues first. I am having great problems distinguishing the round base from the flat base issues. For example, below is a scan of 6d Machins. It must be my tired old eyes because I can't see any difference in the bases of these stamps. Can anyone tell me whether these are flat or round bases and what should I be looking for? I've looked at Robin Harris' adminware.ca but can't pick out enough details to distinguish one base from another.

All of the above look flat to me:

from this site:

http://www.adminware.ca/machin/m_type.htm

maybe the 6d only comes in flat as described above.

Perfs14, although I have a thousand Machins, you do realize that there are lots and lots of duplicates. I checked some of your lower denominations that you need and I have a few that you can use. I will go through some more tomorrow and see which ones I can supply. It's 01:00 a.m so I better head to bed.

Regards

Mike

There is no hurry, Mike. The collection has been like that for a while and it can wait a little longer.

Just do your thing first, maybe in a few weeks/months if you have a spare minute'hour lol you can take a look.

no sweat, just take it easy

cheers

alex

Alex, since you are in no hurry, I'll get back to you in a week or two after I do a better sort on my elliptical Machins. I have a bunch in many glassines with hinges on the backs that still need to be sorted.
Regards
Mike
