Some people don't appreciate stuff like this, Bear, but I'm not one of them. These early issues just downright turn me on! |

| Greetings Mr. bengalpaws . | bengalpaws wrote: | | Gordon Lee wrote: | Greetings Mr. bengalpaws . Good looking classics. We both have just about the same little fellows in our albums. . There's a slight typo on your 938am post. I think you meant your 156 should be identified as Scott 147. . Iagree with your reasoning on evaluating the stamps you purchase. Of course, I might have a different opinion if I were selling stamps. That's a fair price for that Recall stamp. Good buy. . Respectfully,

I don't know about that, Gordon Lee, according to my copy of the Scott Catalog #156 is a 1 cent issue and #147 a 3 cent issue. Even if I have the #147 wrong - which I don't think I do as it's a quite common issue... it's for sure not a 156. |
. Good grief. I have not mastered the English language very mucho. What I'm trying to say is that your label of #156 is wrong. For sure, it is not Scott 156 because it is clearly a three cent Washington stamp. And, I should not have said #147. It might be #136, especially if it has a grill. . Respectfully,
Gordon Lee |

| Thank you. I love the early stuff and don't mind too awful much if they look their age, I just love the postal history aspect of it and of course I collect just for fun and friends! |

| Well I was looking around the net and I found out about this place and it seemed like a nice friendly place to land. Where did I come from? Well, I live literally up in the mountains in Central Pennsylvania. I like to collect stamps and coins and fascinated with postal history and history in general. Also if anyone is ever working on their bank notes I'm pretty versed on the secret marks and varieties give me a shout maybe I can help out? |

| Mountains of central PA... is that the Poconos or am I somewhat geographically misaligned? Sometimes I like to take a shot at facts without Google'ing first! |

| As a fellow Boonie denizen I understand... I sometimes refer to myself as the kind of person who thinks with a city thinking and a country attitude. |

| the city is just not for me. Heck cell phones still baffle me. My 5 year old is better at finding stuff on my phone than I am...it's one of those android phones..I could live without it. |

| My wife and I are both military brats (I'm also a vet) and we always lived in large cities - my wife was born in Paris, France... graduated from high school in Athens, Greece and attended college in Anchorage, Alaska. Myself I lived in San Diego, Jacksonville, Norfolk and Virginia Beach thanks to the Navy. Between us Pensacola, FL was the smallest town either of us had ever lived in. It took some convincing to get her out of the city and into the country but now that she's here I don't think you could force her back into a city.
Yep, I took a city girl born in France and turned her into Southern Belle... Southern drawl and all. Heck, she even likes the rodeo now too! |
